Feeling lonely in your new 3D home? Or maybe you want to impress or annoy your Cybertown friends? Well, you sound like a fun person to us so read on to find out how you can have your very own customized pet or home companion.
Access Pet choices:
After
you've moved into Cybertown, go to your home, then find and click the Update
button 
in the right-hand frame. The Update Your Home
page will load. Click the Configure Virtual Pet
link to bring up the Virtual Pet Behaviour page. To see what pets
you can choose click Select Avatar Url. From
this page you will find a wide selection of pets and avatars.
If you choose to use the pets you see on the 
first
selection page (dog, cat or alien) then just click that picture and the
URL will automatically load into the Pet's Avatar URL: box. If
you decide to select an avatar from the "...source
of more pets." link then you will have to copy the URL of
the avatar and type or paste it into the Pet's Avatar URL: box.
All avatar URL's from this additional source will begin like this: http://www.avatara.com/avatars2/
You will need to add the "avatar_name.wrl" to complete
the URL.
Make it Work:
Give your pet or home companion a nickname, choose the type of voice you would like it to have then check the Activate Pet: box. To customize your
new
friend's replies and some of its actions, you need to fill out the Behaviour
section of that page. To get more information on how to do that, click
the Help link at the top of the page and read
How to program your new Pet. When you are all
done, click the update button at the bottom of the page to save your
instructions. Click My House on the control panel to get back to
your home so you can test out your pet's responses. You can fine tune or
change your pet's responses by going back to the Configure
Virtual Pet link at anytime.
